Objectif (s)  : The project intends to improve the overall food security by investing in the meat subsector, to improve nutrition, create employment, and increase rural incomes.

Livestock products play a key-role in the food security and livelihoods of the people of Mongolia. Therefore, the need and rationale of the National Mongolian Livestock Programme is to intensify implementation efforts in the development of this sector.
To support the sustainable development of a high value meat sector, the strategy adopted will aim at : i) Improved meat quality and the application of food safety management systems (GMP and HACCP) throughout the meat chain ; ii) Increased consumer awareness and mobilize consumer concern to drive improvements in meat quality ; iii) Increase national technical knowledge and exposure to advanced meat safety and quality and value addition and realize a meat value chain study to identify key constraints and recommend the most cost efficient interventions to improve value chain efficiencies and organization.
