Résumé
This experiment was conducted at Hassan II institute experimental station, located in the South west of Morocco. The experiment aimed to study the long-term effect of crop rotation on soil fertility and tomato growth and yield. The experimental design adopted was split plot with four trials and four replicates. Four rotations were applied, tomato after zucchini, tomato after bean, tomato after pea and tomato after fallow. Two organic commercial fertilizers were applied to all crop : compost and alter orga, used as solid and liquid forms. Results showed that the highest yield and income were obtained when tomato was grown after zucchini and treated with alter orga fertilizer. As for soil fertility parameters, an improvement in soil organic matter and total nitrogen was noticed with a decrease in pH. The remaining parameters (P, K, Ca, Mg and micro element) did not show significant variation in this first year of experiment.
