Résumé du projet
Project objectives : • Creating women led community institutions for activities • Conservation, sustainable harvesting and cultivation of Rose hip within the local systems in a sustainable manner. • Establish a community led Rose hip processing centre for sustainable income generation of rural women • Awareness and co generation of local oils from apricot, and other bio-resources with proper community management and establish a more community benefit sharing systems. • Exposure and training of the tribal communities in the use of renewable systems and technologies for energy conservation and emission reduction.
Project activities : • Creating women self help institutions in 18 villages (1000 HHs) in Nubra Valley through PRA’s • Conservation of native species in the natural growth tracts of Ladakh in villages. • Establishment of local management committees, conduction of training, programs, skill building of SHG members to access & use renewable technologies through solar. • Agricultural training camps with community and line department’s partnerships and establishing business enterprise for apricot processing ; sea buckthorn ; and Rose Hip.
