Résumé du projet
Promote the benefit of the native fruits in the Caatinga and Cerrado, preserve the Caatinga, generate income for local farmers and their families, access to public policy, strengthening of agroextractivism and promote local culture.
Practical proposals for social-economic diversification of smallholder production through the sustainable use of land are the main objective of this project. It is hoped that it will serve as a basis for multiplication of the productive and organizational experience for other groups and organizations not yet aware of the possibilities brought about by specialization. Quantitative equipments for production, lack of sanitary orientation and tools for preservation are the main focus. Local meetings will help determine the needs of the smallholder families, who are willing to embark on this diversification of their production. The community of Cana Brava will receive orientation to improve sanitary results for inspection to generated inspection seals for organic products. 27 families are directly involved where the majority are women.
This project hopes to show the smallholders that it is indeed possible and feassible to achieve quality of life in their small stretch of land by diversifying the production, reducing consumption of industrialized products, and improving health and food security for the families. Impacts on the environment are therefore minimized and awareness about the importance of the Cerrado’s potential assists in insuring the preservation of the biome.
