Titre : Namibia Poison & Vulture Awareness Campaign (Namibia)

Pays : Namibie

N° projet  : Nam-04-04

Durée : Start Date : 9/2004 End Date : 8/2006

Résumé du projet
This Project will seek to formulate and apply information on the use of poison and alternative methods for problem animal control. The information will be formatted into a working national monitoring system, which will incorporate strong cooperation between conservation, land management , business groups and the development of resources and people. An active programme will be instituted that visits communities and individuals, and shares information and problem- solving tips that address the social and economic causes for the use of poison.Following the implementation of the campaign, a sign will be posted on the landowners gate to demonstrate to the community that he or she practices ’vulture friendly’ land management. The project will be nation-wide, but heavily focused on the 400 kilometers radius around the Waterberg Plateau where most vultures reside.
