MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOLOGY APPLICATIONS IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE

- MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOLOGY APPLICATIONS IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES

- Lieu et date : Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 14/16 may 2007

- Organisateur : Malaysian Water Association

- Context

It is an IWA (International Water Association) supported conference under the auspices of the Specialist Group for Developing Countries. The proposed conference is an initiative to provide a fresh perspective on the latest development of water management and technology, aligned to integrated management of the water resources.

- Objective

  • The conference aims to discuss related methodologies, directions and other important scientific issues. Special emphasis will be given to the progress in the tropical regions due to the fact that most of the recently reported findings and development in the area of water management and technology are conducted or targeted towards countries with temperate climate.
  • Public health and water management issues in the tropics are more challenging due to the high rainfall, high temperature and very diverse flora and fauna.
  • Tropical regions differ from the temperate in many aspects which is not only limited to the temperature and biodiversity but more importantly the low-income per capita. Hence policy and management issues will be the major subjects for the conference.
