Résumé
Species of the family Caricaceae found favorable to develop and diversify into Mexico conditions, five of the genres that thrive in America, have at least one species in the country and is considered the most economically important species, Carica papaya L., is center of high diversity in the south country, plus two endemic genera that thrive in semi-arid regions and cloud forest. However, the research conduced in this regard is limited and much of the existing information comes from other latitudes. Given the responsibility of the country to safeguard and efficient use of the diversity of Carica and other members of the family Caricaceae, this research was designed with the objectives to diagnose the current situation of Caricaceae in some regions of the country where they thrive, with exploration and description of the variety, but traced further expand knowledge for ex situ conservation of germplasm, in terms of time and storage conditions, and finally the generation of technology chemical scarification of seed that may be applicable to Caricaceae remaining. The research was conduced at Colegio de Postgraduados campus Montecillos, State of Mexico, in the period 2009 to 2013. To which, joined several sections, the first one is focused on the literature review of the family in the country, the second to the exploration of diversity, the third party to know the relationship latency-longevity of seeds Carica after being stored, and the fourth was a study design of seed that would efficiently meet the physiological conditions of the seed. The result aims to give a comprehensive picture of the situation of Caricaceae in some regions of Mexico, waiting to serve as a basis for future research on the topic
