Résumé
Two studies were conducted : the first one consisted of a retrospective study on reproductive performances, production, lifetime production and disease incidence in fifteen herds for the years 1983 to 1987 using software programs. Statistical analysis showed differences for several of these indices between herds and within herds of the same breed, but no correlation for others such age at first calving and lifetime production, or between calving interval and culling rate. The second one consisted of a retrospective study on mastitis incidence in the same herds, and prospective study on mastitis control program on eight herds using C.M.T. and bacteriological cultures. No differences were noticed during the prospective study, and may have been due to the relatively low level of subclinical mastitis at the beginning and throughout the study.
