Résumé
The study attempts to develop policies and management guidelines which would give resource utilization results near to an economic optimum for Al-Hasa Irrigation and Drainage Project. A static linear programming model is developed to determine the pattern of resource allocation and management that would maximize total net farm revenues within the project area. A number of recommendations are outlined. They relate essentially to modifying the present cropping pattern and enhancing the efficiency with which production units, particularly water, are utilized. They also pertain to differing modern farming techniques, making more use of financial production incentives and improving the marketing system.
