Présentation
The ASADWA International Conference was a joint activity of the UNESCO Chair on Eremology of Ghent University, Belgium, the UNESCO Centre for Water in Drylands of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAZALAC), and the Global Network on Water and Development Information (G-WADI) and supported by the Chilean National Committee of the UNESCO International Hydrological Programme (CONAPHI-Chile) and the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaiso (PUCV).
The Universal Forum of Cultures, meant to promote sustainable development, knowledge, peace and cultural diversity, recognized ASADWA for its interaction with all sectors dealing with water management and sustainable development.
The topics of the conference and the presentations included the development, efficiency assessment, design, implementation, constraints and social, economic and cultural aspects of : • Rainfall-runoff water and fog harvesting • Water use efficiency • Managing water scarcity and drought • Water reuse • Aquifer Management and Recharge
