Présentation
The Egyptian population is increasing by more than one million people a year while the available water from the Nile remains constant at 55.5 billion m3 per annum. Accordingly, SDC’s Water Programme Aswan focuses both on the quality of drinking water as well as on more efficient water usage. The present component 3 contributes to reduced water usage in agriculture by adopting more efficient irrigation practices in 10 villages in northern Aswan. It also aims to increase land productivity and household income.

Objectifs : The project goal is to contribute to reduced water usage, efficient irrigation practices and increased households’ income in 10 villages in Nasr El Nuba and Kom Ombo.

Groupes cibles  : Residents of 10 villages of Nasr El Nuba and Kom Ombo, consisting of two predominant ethnic groups, namely Nubians and Saaydas (Upper Egyptians). The direct beneficiaries are farmers and their families, including women and youth.
