Objectif : To improve the food and nutrition security of vulnerable populations affected by food shortages through the increase of food availability and diet variety.

Activités
The following activities were carried out :
* identification of vulnerable households lacking quality seeds in selected regions ;
* selection of implementing partners and signature of Letters of Agreement ;
* identification of 41 000 beneficiaries (vulnerable households) with particular attention to women-headed households and people with disabilities ;
* distribution of 90 tonnes of millet seeds and 160 tonnes of cowpea seeds ; each beneficiary received an agricultural kit including 10 kg of quality seed of millet and 5 kg of cowpea seeds which allowed to sow an area of 1 ha ; and
* crop monitoring and assessment to measure the impact and improvement of food availability for the beneficiaries.

Partenaires : The National system in charge of prevention and management of food crises and disasters (Dispositif National de prévention et de Gestion des Catastrophes et Crises Alimentaires), the regional committees in charge of prevention and management of food crises and disasters, the decentralized services of the Ministry of Agriculture and Non-governmental Organizations.
