The project, which is expected to be completed before the end of 2011, consists of the construction of Tangier and Tantan water production facilities, as well as technical services required for the implementation of these works.

The project aims at covering the expected shortage in water supply in the Tangier region, and satisfying its future needs until 2030. This will be accomplished by reinforcing water production facilities of the Tangier dams system, and the transfer of water to consumption areas. The project also aims at addressing the severe drinking water shortage in the Tantan region, in addition to covering future population needs for water until 2030, through the construction of a water desalination plant and transport of this water to consumption areas.

Coût du projet : KD 27.3 million

Montant du prêt : KD 20.0 million (*) 1 KD is equivalant to about 3.6 US Dollars

Financement : The Arab Fund’s loan covers about 73.0% of the total project cost. The Moroccan Government will cover the remaining cost of the project and any additional cost that may arise.
