Description
Most climate change scenarios predict reduction in rainfall amount in the dry areas (less vegetation cover and more erosion) but more frequent high intensity and erosive rainfall events. The impact of different management strategies to adapt with this change will be modeled and the application of soil conservation and water harvesting interventions will be promoted. Most of the existing robust models were developed under humid conditions and therefore these need to be fine-tuned to suit arid conditions, which are highly vulnerable to climate change.

Objectif :
To provide robust model to evaluate impact of climate change and extreme events on land and water resources and to provide options to maintain productivity and halt land degradation
* Characterization of past, present and future frequency, intensity and distribution of extreme rainfall events
