Descriptif
The last few decades drought is a major problem in several African countries. The coming years there will be more prolonged drought periods due to the climate changes. In order to adapt to these changes Cordaid strengthen so called drough cycle management in the Arid and Semi-Arid regions of Kenya. The project aims to increase the resilience of communities to manage the effects of drought.

Objectifs
Overall objective is to increase the resilience of pastoralists and agro-pastoralists communities to manage the cyclical effects of the droughts. The project is based on a series of participatory disaster risk assessments in the communities and aim to improve and diversify the livelihoods of over 8000 pastoralists households. It focuses on improving access to better water facilities, diversification of income, sustainable management of natural resources and enhancing peacefully coexistence.

Goals
Communities have acquiered skills to manage natural resources and peaceful coexitence
Households have improved food security and enhanced crop production to diversify livelihoods
Households have improved access to water, reducing incidences of water borne disaeases
