Agriculture is the major income source for two thirds of households in Kunduz. This program will assist farmers (including women) to address major constraints in production, processing and marketing of their agricultural produce. They are trained in new cultivation techniques, treatment of crop diseases, post-harvest management, cool storage, use of green houses and marketing of their products.

The overall objective of this program is to improve the agricultural production output and to improve the access to local and regional markets for farmers in Kunduz.
Specific objectives
1- Enhance the capacity of targeted farmers including women on new innovative agricultural/livestock practices and marketing skills
2- Reduce post-harvest losses through access to storage facilities and training in production management
3- Improve socio-economic position of rural female farmers through access to inputs and skills
4- Build capacity of the three implementing partners and local government staff
