Integration of Disaster Risk Reduction in County/District planning In most countries development planning is a top down exercise, where the capital city askes lower autorities to make development plans and budgets, based on central objectives. This project aims to include community participation into the process and the incorporation of potential hazards. As aresult the district plans are better geared to the capacities and possibilities of the costituency.

With this project we aim to develop a tool for County/District planning, where the actual communities and people living there are involved in the process. The planning incorporates their vision of the future and the capacities they have to offer to realize these visions. On the other hand the possible hazards that are threatening the development and the population are also taken into consideration and plans are made to prevent and or mitigate the effects.
