Farmers improve and increase their milk production to generate income Cordaid is working together with Heifer Netherlands and the local partner, Heifer Malawi, to increase the underdeveloped dairy production in the Mchinji District. Through passing the gift of a cow, farmers pass on a newborn animal to other farmer participants in order to increase the livestock and the dairy production. Agriculture, clean water and infrastructure to the dairy market are improved.

The main objective is to reduce hunger and poverty by increasing the diary and food production, so farmers can bring their products to the markets and acquire more income. To reach this outcome : 1. the dairy production will be improved, made efficient and sustainable. 2. Access to the dairy market will expand to local and small farmers. 3. Food security, knowledge on food and hygiene will improve the health of the farmers, women and children.
