Programme
The overall goal of the CSELL program is to smoothen consumption and strengthen the livestock-based livelihoods of pastoralist communities in the regions of Somaliland. The intermediate results of the project are 1) Stabilize food consumption for 750 chronically food insecure households ; 2) Improve livestock health for 2,000 households who have livestock ; and 3) Improve the utilization of natural resources in the target areas. To accomplish these results, we intend to implement the following primary activities 1) Conduct cash and livestock transfers to targeted households to meet their food needs ; 2) Improve animal health through the creation of a network of community based animal health workers (CBAHWs) ; and 3) Reclaim rangelands and improve their management.
