Résumé
This research was carried out at the University of Ankara, Faculty of Agriculture, Research and Application Farm during 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 growing seasons. The experiments were conducted with four replications in completely randomized block design and Köse 220/39, Bezostaja 1, Kıraç 66, Gerek 79, Gün-91, Kırgız 95, İkizce 96, Aytın 98, Harmankaya-99, Karahan-99, Altay 2000, Demir 2000, Bayraktar 2000, Sönmez 2001, Tosunbey, Seval, Müfitbey bread wheat varieties were used in the research. In this study, the characterization of morphological and physiological features of the varieties was aimed. In the research ; days to heading, plant height, flag leaf blade width, flag leaf blade length, flag leaf area, flag leaf sheath length, length of neck above flag leaf sheath, flag leaf chlorophyll content, fertile spike number per m2 , spike lenght, number of spikelets per spike, number of fertile and sterile spikelets per spike, awn length, lower glume beak length, ear density, number of grain per spike, grain weight per spike, grain yield, harvest index, thousand grain weight, hectoliter weight, protein content, sedimentation values (Zeleny), glutenin and gliadin band patterns and characters of bread wheat variety description form were examined. The results obtained for the analyzed parameters per year were significantly different ; therefore, the years were evaluated separately. According to the research results, while Gerek 79 was obtained as the first by 192.2 kg/da in the first year as regards to grain yield per unit area, Bayraktar 2000 was obtained as the first by 420.2 kg/da in the second year. Köse 220/39 showed the highest protein content in each year. The associations among yield and yield components of 17 bread wheat varieties were also determined by simple correlation analyses. Grain yield had a significant positive correlation with plant height, flag leaf area, spike number per m2 , number of fertile spikelets per spike, number of grain per spike, grain weight per spike, harvest index, thousand grain weight. Glutenin and gliadin band patterns of 17 wheat varieties were also determined by biochemical methods for characterization.
