Titre : TECHNOLOGIES FOR MONITORING, ASSESSMENT AND MANAGEMENT OF MONGOLIAN AND U. S. RANGELANDS

Identification : 6235-11210-005-39S

Pays : Mongolie

Durée : Oct 1, 2006 à Sep 30, 2009

Domaine : Desert and semidesert shrub land and shinnery

Partenaire : RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF ANIMAL HUSBANDRY ULAANBAATAR

Objectif  : The objective of this cooperative research project is to develop technologies for integrative assessment and monitoring of ecologically important rangeland properties at multiple scales, and develop ecological approaches for describing landscapes and sites.

Descriptif
Collaborative experiments will be designed and implemented at jointly identified sites in the Southwestern United States and Mongolian rangelands. Experiments will be patterned after existing experiments to 1) design assessment and monitoring technologies that level ground based and remotely sensed indicators of ecosystem properties, and 2) deign methods to described ecological sites in a global manner applicable to both U.S. and Mongolian rangelands.
