To develop efficient and effective marketing and credit systems by improving the performance of market intermediaries and enhancing farmer access to markets.

Descriptif
With the implementation of market liberalisation policies in sub-Saharan Africa, it has become apparent that a number of issues relating to the smooth functioning of marketing systems need to be addressed if the anticipated benefits from liberalisation are to be realised. One such issue is trader credit, the shortage of which can be identified as a major contribution to the seasonal price variation for grains and other crops.
