Objectifs
The objective of this study is to assess the impact of biosolids on wind erosion from agricultural drylands in the low precipitation zone of the Columbia Plateau.

Descriptif
The erodibility of soil subject to high winds will be assessed on agricultural drylands that have been amended with biosolids. The potential for wind erosion will be determined for two tillage and two biosolid treatments. Wind erosion will be determined after the first rodweeding (mid-June 2015 and 2016) and after sowing winter wheat (late-August 2015 and 2016). Wind erosion will be assessed using a portable wind tunnel. In addition to measuring wind erosion, soil biological/chemical/physical properties and surface characteristics will be assessed to aid in understanding differences in wind erosion among treatments and possible air quality concerns.
