Résumé
This master thesis is part of long term study about agricultural systems, farming methods, their threats and future objectives for improving the livelihood in Barani (Rain fed) agricultural areas in Pakistan. Therefore an evaluation of long term soil erosion was necessary, achieved in this thesis using RUSLE model. The selected study area was the Dharabi Watershed in Pakistan, district of Chakwal about 120 km south of the capital city Islamabad. Its extension was identified with 196 km², its altitude reaches from 445 to 898 a.s.l. During a four week stay, input parameters to create soil erodibility map (K-Factor), vegetation map (C-Factor) were investigated. Input data for rainfall/runoff erosivity factor (R-Factor) was obtained from one rain gauge in the watershed. The topography LS-Factor was computed on basis of a digital elevation map with a 30x30 meter cell grid. Average yearly soil loss was calculated between 0 and 27188 t/ha depending on given conditions. The average soil loss in the whole watershed appeared as 13,62 t/ha.
