Résumé
This research aims to analyze, in quali-quantitative form, the drainage network of the river basin Bom Successo (Bahia), starting from the presupposition that the drainage of semi arid environments are less efficient in evolution process of planning surfaces. It also points to establish the relationship between the drainage network and the elaboration of geomorphological compartments through the different drainage patterns. For this, the system approach was adopted as a method of analysis to understand that system components interact with each other, favoring the elaboration of landforms that evolute in the course of time. The unit of spatial analysis chosen is inserted in a field of semiarid climate, where few geomorphological surveys were developed. The results showed that the performance of the hot and dry climate favors the elaboration of an extensive planning surface that is organized into three distinct topographic levels, whereas the upper and intermediate levels are preserved and the lower level, dissected. The morphological and morphometric characteristics of the drainage network indicate that this is a watershed whose performance, in general, is not very effectual in dissecting the relief, nevertheless, the interaction of that with the local geology favored different degrees of dissection, which resulted in the formation of six geomorphological compartments. Through the compartments features, it is said that they exhibit shapes which are commonly encountered in hot and dry. However, landforms as tops gently convex and convex hillsides have been identified and are probably related to non zonal processes. The technical and methodological procedures employed contributed to these results were achieved and it is suggested that new methods are applied in order to better understand the influence of the drainage network in the evolution of the modeled of semi arid regions
