Résumé
This book is primarily concerned with giving the arid land architect a basic checklist of alternative methods of controlling solar heat gain in his building without the use of mechanical systems. It has been found that it is quite possible to live in relative comfort in the desert with the intelligent use of natural forms, materials and the climatic elements. Hopefully, this book will broaden the scope of the architect’s responsibility in that, through the material presented here, the designer can more accurately predetermine his building’s thermal performances.

Mots clés : Architecture and solar radiation. ; Architecture and climate.
