Résumé
The hypothesis of this study was to determine the influence that the season of collection, the type of stake and the application of phytohormones may have over the rooting capacity of Proustia cuneifolia D. Don. The general objective was to study some factors affecting the rooting of stakes in this species. The specific objectives were to determine the effect of the season of stakes collection, the type of stake and the effect of hormone application over rooting capacity of Proustia cuneifolia D. Don. stakes. Surviving stakes were 323 (67.3 % of the total sum of stakes). According to harvest season, autumn got the highest values, and spring the lowest. Mid section stakes had the highest survival value (71.7 %), compared to the apical section (62.9 %). For phytohormone treatment, the witness obtained 72.5% of survival, IBA 68.1% and NAA with 61.2%. The highest rooting percentage was spring (48.3 %), and the lowest winter (1.6 %). There were no differences in results for types of stake or phytohormones. The best sprouting season was winter (30.8 %). The season with the highest number of total roots was spring (65), and the lowest was winter (3). Season also had an effect on sprout total number, with 41 in summer, and 0 in autumn. In root length, spring was above other seasons, and summer was above other seasons in sprout length. Differences related to total roots were observed in IBA (53) and NAA (33). The best season for stake collection would be spring, were the highest response was observed, and it wouldn’t be necessary to discriminate among types of stake or phytohormone treatment, to maintain low production costs.
