Résumé
Characterize climatically a wine region is the starting point for delineating zones with different capabilities and limitations for the growing of different varieties of grapes. The importance of the Casablanca Valley in the production of fine white wines and the lack of climate information in this area prompted to carry out this study. The climate data for the 2007 -2008 season from 12 meteorological stations distributed in the valley were used to calculate bioclimatic indexes and to climatic characterize the area at a mesoclimate scale. Three synthetic and complementary bioclimatic indices were used, belonging to the Multicriteria System for Climatic Classification (CCM).These indices consider daytime thermal conditions photosynthetically active period of the vine (Heliothermic of Huglin-IH Index), Soil Water Availability Index (Drought-IS) and night temperatures during the period prior to harvest grapes (Cold Night-IF Index). The bioclimatic indices were analyzed in an integrated manner using multivariate statistics to obtain a climatic classification of homogeneous climatic groups, evaluate the homogeneity of the groups and identify climatic factors with greater influence on differentiation of the different climate zones of the area under study. According to the results there are 3 groups that present differences mainly in the heliothermic potential (IH). For the IF, all meteorological stations show the presence of very cold nights during ripening of the grapes, while in the case of SI evidence of a bounded variation is identified, showing areas with moderate drought conditions and areas with strong drought conditions.
