Présentation
Western Qa’rah Villages are the 12 villages located on the road to the end of the Nugid plain close to Ra’s Qatanen. These villages are : from Janoti, Rahn, Khawdaher, Kadodaihon, Mahadher, Qatanah, Tida’hah (Shajarah), Lebnaneten, Beiyo, Aleihan, Qashabeb and Ma’baher. to Ma’baher. All villages have access to continuously (24 hours) flowing water through one or two poly ethylene 1” pipes. The daily water delivery varies from one to another due to distance, pipes condition, time of day (night flow is higher than the day) and availability in the sources. Seasonal variation of water availability said not to be significant. The average daily share was found to be 1.83 cubic meters per family. The project will help women in building 155 water tanks with capacity of 6m3. for storing and cooling water for home uses and gardening.

The project aims are : 1. Rationalization of water use in 12 villages (151 household and 4 schools) 2. Reduce women labour in water management, storing and uses 3. Enable women to use access water for income generation activities 4. Cooling delivered heated water (in Polyethylene pipes) in mid-days hours for safe use 5. Women capacity building in home gardens development and livelihood improvement. 6. Enable 151 women (households) to secure additional income from vegetables sales 7. Raise environmental awareness among communities in 12 villages in western Qarah’ 8. Ensure project sustainability.
