Description
To mitigate the impacts of flash floods and build the capacities of Members, WMO is implementing the Flash Flood Guidance System (FFGS) project in cooperation with the Hydrologic Research Centre (HRC), based in San Diego, USA. FFGS is being implemented in several regions around the world.
As part of the FFGS being implemented in South Asia, the project will support capacity development activities in Afghanistan to allow for the provision of early warnings of hydro-meteorological hazards, including the strengthening of observing systems.
