Présentation
Objectifs : To contribute to strengthen the resilience of vulnerable populations in the Sahel.
Activités : Carried out assessments on good practices for the sustainable management of pastoral resources. •Organized a regional training workshop on the prevention and management of crises, and a capitalization workshop on successful initiatives for the sustainable management of pastoral resources, benefiting 50 people. •Organized national consultation workshops on pastoral risk management strategies for government and partners in each country, benefiting 228 people. •Carried out and scaled up community trainings on early warning systems and sustainable management of pastoral resources, benefiting 175 community trainers and 4 949 pastoral and agropastoral community members. •Established a platform for mainstreaming disaster risk reduction and resilience in agriculture, allowing for countries to access technical and financial resources to fully integrate risk reduction principles and practices in agriculture. •Developed and disseminated a document summarizing best practices and successful initiatives on the sustainable management of pastoral resources. •Carried out a pastoral viability threshold analysis. •Conducted participatory evaluations at country level on : (i) the availability of information on pastoral early warning systems ; and (ii) the necessity, appropriateness and feasibility of the dissemination of such information to pastoral communities. •Carried out an evaluation on the contribution of pastoral systems to food security in northern Mali. •Provided 170 tonnes of animal feed to 1 416 beneficiary households in the Niger.

Bénéficiaires : 5 402 people directly benefited from the trainings held at country and regional levels, and 1 416 households benefited from the input distribution in the Niger.
