Présentation
* Objectifs : To improve the food security and livelihoods of vulnerable farmers, animal herders and fisherfolk in the West Bank and Gaza Strip by protecting their productive capacity.
* Activités : Established 120 aquaculture ponds and distributed 400 000 fingerlings, 125 tonnes of fish fodder and irrigation equipment to 458 households. •Trained 240 aquaculture pond beneficiaries on fish farming techniques and marketing. •Constructed 60 rainwater harvesting cisterns for the irrigation of 60 backyard gardens and trained recipients on water use optimization. •Established 17 water harvesting pools for the irrigation of vegetable farms. •Rehabilitated one underground well in order to resume irrigation for 320 dunums in the Access Restricted Area, benefiting 150 farming families. •Vaccinated 20 111 heads of livestock against lumpy skin disease and 20 000 heads against foot-and-mouth disease, benefiting 680 herders. •Distributed 1 360 rolls of plastic sheets to 360 beneficiaries to rehabilitate greenhouses, and plantlets and irrigation networks to 70 households to rehabilitate their orchard plots. •Provided 457 beneficiaries with cash assistance (about USD 2 829 per person) to assist in the rehabilitation of damaged or destroyed agricultural assets.
