Résumé  : The aim of this study is to prepare a 3 Dimensional (3D) hydrogeologic model of the Yeşilköy aquifer which is the main source of the public supply at the Karpaz Peninsula of the Northern Cyprus. This aquifer has a surface area of nearly 16 km2. The investigated area has typical Mediterranean climate characteristics with long and dry summer season and warm and rainy winter season. Average temperature is 19.3ºC. Maximum and minimum average temperatures are 26.5ºC and 11.7°C, respectively. The average annual total precipitation is 483.2 mm. The basement rock of the study area comprises the Oligocene-Miocene impermeable Değirmenlik group that made up of flysch and marl. This formation is overlain by the Pliocene-Late Quaternary Mesarya group and Late Quaternary sediments, comprising sandstone, calcarenite and limestone. These formations constitute the main aquifer of the region. This aquifer is overlain by the Quaternary- Holocene alluvium forming an unconfined aquifer. Recharge of the aquifer is from precipitation and irrigation. The main discharge of the aquifer is by pumping groundwater from wells besides evaporation and flow to the sea.
