Résumé
This thesis is divided to five chapters : The first chapter introduces the problems of the fast climate changes and the necessity of decreasing fossil energy consumptions in contemporary houses. It is proposed that the design of low-consumed energy houses can be based on traditional principles with simple technologies and accurate social behavior. The hypothesis of the thesis is that, usage of renewable energies in architecture and considering traditional lifestyle can leads to sustainable architecture and life. The second chapter is based on concepts of the vernacular houses. In this chapter, the characteristic of vernacular houses at the end of Ghajarye period )1795 -1925( in cities such as Yazd and Kashan with hot and dry climate in Iran are described and analyzed. Different scales of consideration such as urban design, architecture, social behavior and tradition lifestyle are studied in order to find the sustainable methods which have been used in these houses. In third chapter, some other researches on sustainable Iranian architecture are reviewed. Then, the problems produced in the houses with less usage of renewable energies and high energy consumption is discussed. The survey shows that using less renewable energies and incorrect lifestyle lead to increase energy consumption in contemporary houses. In fourth chapter, some researches on new passive ways of using renewable energies in contemporary houses of the world are done. This chapter introduces various contemporary climatic solutions for buildings which can help to increase the level of thermal comfort of inhabitants. These solutions are mostly based on using wind and solar energies. In fifth chapter, some proposals originate from comparative studies between the traditional solutions and contemporary ones. This chapter is consisted of two parts : the first part opens up some architectural guideline that has been achieved from comparative studies between traditional and new methods. The second part is a proposal for cooperative architecture as a concept which could be helpful for generation of a sustainable solution.
