Wind Energy Used for Water Pumping and Irrigation in Edirne Kuzucu Village

Turquie

Titre : Wind Energy Used for Water Pumping and Irrigation in Edirne Kuzucu Village

Pays : Turquie

Numéro projet : TUR-05-11

Domaine : Climate Change Mitigation

Durée : 2/2006 — 8/2007

Bénéficiaire : Kuzucu Village Irrigation Cooperative

Présentation
Kuzucu Village will be replacing part of its energy needs for irrigation (from electricity) to wind energy by the use of an experimental wind collector. The wind collector will be used to pump water from a shallow, unused water well with a low pressure. The pumped water will be stored and used to complement the existing water supply scheme. The proposed collector will be able to provide the needs of 40 farms around the insatallation (the perimeter of reach of the pumping system). The system will be beneficial to not only the 40 farmers it will be providing the water, but to all farmers of the cooperative as without the use of electricity for pumping the unit price for the water will become lower thus will be economical to all farmers. Also this will reduce the CO2 emmissions.
