Descriptif
ECHO has provided DanChurchAid with EUR 1,200,000 in order to contribute to increased community resilience and reduced vulnerability to drought through the provision of multi sectoral assistance. The project prepares Ethiopian communities to drought risks by improving local capacities on risk profiling, planning and implementation of Disaster Risk Reduction interventions. In this regard, early warning systems are strengthened, and good practices are enhanced. Through cash for work, beneficiaries are encouraged to take an active part in disaster risk reduction in their communities, while at the same time generating income to sustain the livelihoods of their families.
