Zambie

Dan Church Aid

Titre : Securing land rights for poor and marginalised households in Zambia

Securing the land tenure for 5,200 marginalised households will lead to better living conditions as social, cultural and economic rights are protected. This also includes increased food and income security.

Région / Pays : Zambie

Durée : 36 months

Début : 01.01.2013

Descriptif
EuropeAid has provided EUR 695,400 to DCA and implementing partner, Zambia Land Alliance (ZLA), to improve the living conditions of 5,200 households by securing their access to land. The lack of awareness around land rights, laws, policies and procedures often leads to land tenure insecurity in Zambia. As rural Zambians derive their livelihoods from land, this threatens their food and income security. The project aims at empowering community members to protect their access, ownership and control of customary land, as well as holding leaders accountable in the administration of land. Furthermore, the capacity of local non-state actors is strengthened in order to provide support to poor and marginalised communities.
