Descriptif
ECHO has provided DanChurchAid with EUR 847.000 to reduce incidences of water and sanitation related diseases amongst internally displaced people and host communities of Central Darfur. The ECHO funded project has been ongoing since 2004 and remains crucial for the large displaced populations unable to return due to insecurity and complete lack of basic services in their areas of origin. The project aims to increase awareness of good hygiene practices and contributes to improved and sustainable access to safe water and basic sanitation. Through health and hygiene promotion activities that aim to have all members of the community accessing information and adopting behaviors, the project contributes to the good health of the individual, the household and the whole community.
