UNDP has provided DanChurchAid with USD 250,000 to contribute in improving the living conditions and income generation capacities of marginalised communities in Area C. Furthermore the project aims to ensure human security for local development. Many Palestinian communities in Area C, living under Israeli military/civilian control, are obliged to manage without electrical connections, even when it passes very near their homes. These communities struggle without infrastructure, running water or electricity. The project aims to improve the living conditions of 98 vulnerable households in 5 target areas within the Bethlehem and Hebron governorates by providing them with household-based sustainable renewable energy resources. The provision of a renewable energy source-whether through solar panels or simple spotlights for families in deep poverty can change their lives and potentially provide many income generating and life quality enhancing benefits.
