Dan Church Aid

Titre : Water and protection for vulnerable people in the occupied Palestinian territories

Especially the Bedouin Community is a vulnerable group in the occupied Palestinian territories’ Area C. The Bedouins suffer from lack of water, sanitation and hygiene, as well as constant attempts to displace them from their homes.

Région / Pays : Palestine

Durée : 12 months

Début : July 1, 2012

Descriptif
ECHO has provided DanChurchAid with EUR 1,220,000 to increase the Area C population’s access to water, resources, and services necessary for sustaining communities and preventing forced population transfer. The population in Area C, in particular the Bedouins, continues to suffer from shrinking grazing land and lack of access to basic services due to settlements, the Wall, and other barriers. The aims of this project are specifically to provide safe water, sanitation and hygiene to the vulnerable population living in the occupied Palestinian territories. Furthermore, issues with forced population transfer are addressed through capacity-building and empowering the communities to enhance self-protection activities and advocate for their rights.
