Afghanistan

Titre : Safe water in Deh Sabz Improving water supply, sanitation and hygiene in Deh Sabz (Afghanistan)

Pays/Région : Afghanistan

Date 01-Apr-2012 — 30-Jun-2014

Contexte
Deh Sabz is facing high numbers of returnees from Pakistan and is the district with the highest number of returns in the Central Region this year. The population has almost doubled since the fighting ended in 2002. Due to decades of conflict, the infrastructure is in ruins with poor roads, insufficient electricity, and insufficient clean water and water to irrigate arable land. Poor sanitation, made worse by an increasing population, adversely affects the health of the population. Assessments carried out by ZOA in 2010 and March 2012 confirm these needs.
