Présentation
The project aims to mitigate mismanagement of used oil with potential to harm human beings and the environment negatively. The project will entail the rehabilitation of the used oil tank in Serowe and installation of used oil tanks in Kasane (1) and Francistown (2).
Francistown and Kasane has been selected as project sites by virtue of their impoartance in the economy. Francistown is the second city of the country and it has recently experienced a boom of industries and major economic activities which comes with excessive used oil generation. Kasane is one of the key tourism destinations in Botswana, and the tourism activities conducted there contribute significantly to the country’s economy. Hence, this motivate for appropriate used oil collection infrastructures to be put in places in to avoid used oil to being disposed anyhow which can affect the ecologically sensitive pristine environment which sustains a diversity of tourism activities.
