Présentation
Objectif (s) : Address immediate life-saving needs of the poorest families affected by the 2015 El Niño phenomenon and dry spells in 2016 through strengthening household resilience to future climatic shocks.
Activités : * Distributed 20.01 tonnes of improved seeds (510 kg of assorted vegetable seeds, 7.2 tonnes of millet, 6 tonnes of pigeon pea and 6.3 tonnes of sorghum seeds). * Conducted nutrition-sensitive awareness sessions in the targeted communities. * Distributed 4 000 digging hoes and 4 000 weeding hoes, to 3 000 households in Algounb and Awlieb, Durdaib, Haya, Sinkat and Tokar localities. * Distributed 2.5 tonnes of seed in order to support community-based participatory approaches for the rehabilitation of 84 ha of degraded pasture. * Distributed 176 tonnes of animal concentrate feed and 12 tonnes of mineral licks to 1 200 vulnerable pastoral and agropastoral households in five targeted localities. * Provided 200 households with three female sheep/household in Algounb, Awlieb and Durdaib localities. * Supplied livestock vaccination and treatments on a cost recovery basis, linking beneficiaries with community animal health worker systems to ensure sustainability. * Organized 50 agricultural extension sessions benefiting 3 050 farmers covering smart agriculture for climate change mitigation and improved animal and crop husbandry practices.
