Objectif (s)  : Increased technical capacity and improved organisational modalities at different levels in support of the competitiveness of the small-scale horticulture sector in Egypt

Résultats attendus
• Established demonstration and on-farm training units for soilless culture as alternatives to the use of Methyl Bromide for soil sterilization and improved water use efficiency ; and micro-garden technologies demonstration technology centres in urban areas ; • Developed GAP guidelines for improved on-farm water management and water use efficiency technologies in English and Arabic ; • Validated IPP (Integrated production and protection practices for small greenhouses) cards to illustrate “Best Practices” throughout the production-consumption chain ; • Hold thematic training sessions for about 1,000 beneficiaries, including field technicians, farmers’ groups on improved on-farm water management, soilless culture as well as micro-garden technologies for school teachers, students and households ; • Established several units for solar power micro-irrigation for micro-gardens and small greenhouses
