Résumé
A study on Acacia seyal was carried out, focusing on aspects of seed ecology, regeneration potential and grazing impact. Investigations into the seed crop carried out for four years in a natural forest of A. seyal indicated strong year-to-year crop variation and low seed viability. Seeds in the soil maintained their existing viability for about three years. This rapid depletion of the soil seed bank, together with the initially already low viability, emphasizes the significance of such silvicultural measures that improve the restoration of the soil seed reserves for regeneration and ensure the successful development of the recruited seedlings
