Résumé
The coupling and interpretation of different temporal scales of morphogenetic dynamics has risen the interest regarding the understanding of the complex interaction between short term processes and those of higher scales, as well the levels of interference of long term in short term alterations. This being so, understanding how morphoclimatic processes act upon the shaping of landforms, requires the distribution of formative events within certain time intervals, not simply adjusting the environmental dynamics to an analysis model, but also revealing how the phenomena and their intensity are individualized within various chronological intervals. The study are comprises the Bruscas creek watershed (States of Pernambuco and Paraíba), with 409 Km2. The aim of this work resides on the creation of a qualitative model of temporal integration, specifically designed for a sector of Brazil’s semi-arid region, of the morphological patterns responses of aggradational landforms, to the pulsation of the climatic regime and, in the instance of short term time scales their overlapping to land use forms. The applied methodology comprises field surveying, sedimentological and stratigraphical analysis and absolute dating technique (Optically Stimulated Luminescence). The results showed that the superficial structure of the landscape in the study area results from seven distinct climatic phases occurring mostly throughout the Holocene. The first five phases display a behavior pattern in accordance with natural climatic shifts, whereas the last two result from the interplay of climate and human induced changes
