Résumé
The coastal scrub of Baja California (CS), is a characteristic vegetation of the mediterranean region of Baja California, is threatened by the fragmentation of its ecosystem, mainly by socioeconomic activities in the region, since it’s not subject to government conservation, nor is it recognized its importance for the local population. Which increase the threat of loss for such vegetation. The aim of this thesis is to generate proposals for coastal scrub’s conservation in order to respect the integrity of the CSBC and to provide benefits for the local population. By satellite analysis of the Mediterranean region (RM) and analysis of databases of different Mexican and American universities and herbaria, the CSBC distribution maps were developed using MaxEnt. These maps were cross with the layers of land use of RM, resulting to 17 areas identified with potential for conservation. Complementing analysis of the natural system, semistructured interviews were conducted to understand the perception of the local population with respect to the CSBC, in a kind of pre-diagnosis to provide a basis on the interest and motivation of the population to conserve or not these plant resource.

Mots Clés : coastal scrub, environmental perception, conservation, satellite analysis
