Résumé
Despite low humidity from low seasonal precipitation, desert areas possess diverse and abundant arachnologic fauna, with species of mesic origins, relicts of previous climatologic conditions, or introduced recently. They provide high value to oases. Soil spiders are very important to deserts ecosystems because they play an important role in the energy flow of the food webs (Polis, 1991), and are dominant in these environments (Muma, 1981 ; Weeks and Holtzer, 2000). In a survey and collection of 1825 spiders (988 in San Isidro-La Purísima, 837 in San José de Comondú) 21 genera with 29 species were identified, eight were new to science and two were endemic species for the Baja California Peninsula and three for Baja California Sur and islands. Gnaphosidae was the richest family (16 species). Overall, the most common families were Caponiidae (422 specimens, 23.2%) and Gnaphosidae (417 specimens, 22.8%). The most abundant families at San Isidro-La Purísima were Caponiidae (24%) and Miturgidae (21%). In the mesic zone, Lycosidae (36%) and Caponiidae (22%) were most common, and in the xeric zone, Oonopidae (27%) and Caponiidae (26%) were most numerous. In the San Jose de Comondú oasis, Lycosidae (30%) and Gnaphosidae (26%) were most common in the mesic zone, and Caponiidae (25%) and Gnaphosidae (36%) preferred the xeric zone. A taxonomic key for wandering spiders, including diagnostics and descriptions of the habitats of all spider species are provided
