Résumé
The present study was made with the objective Identify morphological and anatomical characters of needles that provide more variation to differentiate populations of Pinus coulteri of Laguna Hanson, Sierra Blanca and Rancho Nuevo, Baja California. The collection of plant material was performed in 2010, the number of samples per population was 22 trees to Sierra Blanca, Laguna Hanson 25 trees and 19 trees for the population of Rancho Nuevo. The difference of numbers of samples collected by population is due to it was taken into account only the mature trees, selective sampling is used, this in order to sample the entire mature population. A normality test for each of the variables, the values of central tendency and dispersion were estimated . An Analysis of Variance considering mixed effects, and a principal component analysis was developed. The analysis of variance showed statistically significant differences between populations in 9 of 16 variables evaluated. The population of Laguna Hanson and Sierra Blanca are statistically the same in five and four anatomical morphological variables but different from Rancho Nuevo, while two morphological variables, needle length, pod length and resin canals, the three populations are different. The morphological variables that showed greater variation were wide pod, number of rows of stomata on the left underside, number of rows of stomata on the right underside, number of rows of stomata on the upper and anatomical was width of vascular bundle including endoderm cells, including vascular bundle length endoderm cells, number of endodermal cells, distance from the position angle resinífero canal, you can clearly see that the anatomical and morphological variables are useful for differentiating populations of Pinus coulteri.
