Résumé
Hydroponics Green Forage Production (HGF) is a technique for the production of fresh food for animals, appropriate to mitigate the main difficulties in arid and semiarid areas. Three crops, Wheat (Genus triticum), Oats (Avena sativa) and Barley (Hordeum vulgare) were evaluated under greenhouse conditions, with the objective of determining their production with three nutrition schemes : Standard nutrition solution (200 ppm N) as proposed by FAO (2001), Organic solution based on earthworms liquid humus at 50% (100 ppm N), and a combined solution of 200 ppm N from earthworms humus plus some chemical elements (Ca, P, Fe. Cu) as supplement. The experimental unit consisted of twelve 12 0.1352-m2 pans. Samples were taken in 10% (0.0143 m2) of the total area from all 216 pans. The experimental design was a Complete Randomized experiment with 9 treatments and 2 replicates. The variables studied were plant height, biomass and true protein. Data collection was made at 4, 8 and 11days after seed germination (dag). The tallest plants were recorded in Barley combined with organic-chemical nutrition with an average value of 19.4 cm, while the biomass production was greatest in oats with chemical nutrition producing 4.8 kg/m2. The greatest true protein content was obtained for barley with chemical nutrition with a mean value of 19%. This data is in agreement with studies reported by FAO (2001), thus concluding this production technique is an alternative for animal nutrition.
